The forthcoming Dharma productions ‘I Hate Luv Story’s’ directed by Punit Malhotra is almost like a sneak peek into the world of Bollywood cinematic world.

Sources reveal that even though rumors are that the film is a take on the so-called romantic liaisons of the film industry, the truth is that it is a pro-love story. The protagonists, played byImran Khan and Sonam Kapoor are totally at a different level of thought process.

The character played by Imran, has a very pragmatic approach to love. He is a die hard Casanova, until he falls prey to the uncontrollable pangs of love.

Sonam, a die-hard believer in the concept of love is very bewildered by events unfolding in her life. Thus, this flick is sure to hit the super box office success story of the year if it strikes the right chord of the audiences that is!

Tennis champ Sania Mirza is not only in the news for her impending marriage but also for a film based on her life. Sonam Kapoor will play a character strikingly similar to Sania in Anees Bazmee’s rom-com Thank You. The film’s shooting starts mid-April in Canada.

Just like Sania, Sonam plays a young, attractive tennis champ and falls in love with a guy, who is completely wrong for her. She soon realises her mistake and turns back before it’s too late. Remember Sania calling off her engagement to Sohrab Mirza earlier this year before news of her impending marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik started doing the rounds?

Director Anees Bazmee confirms the news and says, “Sonam does pay a tennis champ, and Akshay Kumar plays a guy who’s seeing 30-35 girls at the same time, until he meets Sonam. Though he gives up flirting, he’s not particularly serious about Sonam too. It’s a funny take on courtship.”

Sonam will be trained by a tennis coach in Canada for her role. “Sonam plays a state-level tennis champ in Canada so she cannot afford to look amateurish while playing the game in my film. I don’t expect her to become a tennis champ in a week but she should look like a professional,” adds the director.

When asked about the similarities between Sania Mirza and Sonam’s role Anees Bazmee says, “I wouldn’t like to take any names but any girl playing a tennis player would have similarities to the name you mentioned.”

What he would rather not say is that all the departments of his film including the script, camera and makeup, would be working towards making Sonam look like Sania.

Reportedly Sonam Kapoor is in love! Buzz is that she is smitten by Punit Malhotra, the director of her upcoming film – I Hate Luv Stories. What irony!

There’s a strong buzz and everyone on the sets of the film seems to be aware of the budding romance between the actress and the director.

A website quotes a source as saying, “Punit was constantly taking Sonam’s photos and telling her how gorgeous she looked. Whenever they weren’t shooting, the two would go out and try new places for dinner. In fact, Sonam even told her sister Rhea about Punit.”

Both Sonam and Punit were single previously and they hit it off really well during their New Zealand schedule. Ever since then the lovebirds have become inseparable.

If not films, awards are coming all the way to Sonam Kapoor’s credit. After a series of award, Sonam Kapoor has now been nominated for the fourth Asian Film Awards. She has been nominated in the best newcomer category for her role in Delhi-6. Under the same category, four contenders from China and Korea are nominated.

Daughter of popular actor Anil Kapoor, Sonam made her filmy debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 2007. She has also been the face of L’Oreal. Sonam posed for many fashion magazines and is considered to be a brand face.

The award ceremony will be held in March 22.

Anil Kapoor declares himself a proud father of a daughter Sonam Kapoor as according to him Sonam has kept a tap of the traditions and is following them religiously.

Yes, Sonam stepped into the shoes of her father by purchasing a brand new Audi car whose 1988 model was purchased by papa Kapoor.

Our source informs, “Sonam had purchased a brand new Audi car and the novel thing is that the actress had invested her own hard earned money for her new car. Both father Anil and daughter Sonam was present at the launch in Delhi.”

Source goes on, “Anil Kapoor stated at the event that he was the first Bollywood actor in the industry to buy an Audi car in the year 1988 and it feels good that today my daughter is also buying an Audi and that too by her own earnings.”

Just if you’ve imagined Sonam Kapoor to be one of those star kids who’s getting everything on a platter, think again.

The actress is working real hard to get into the skin of her character in Ayesha, a film that her father Anil Kapoor is producing. Mid-Day reports Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor are attending voice modulation workshops to ‘get intonation and diction right’.

“Sonam plays the role of a high-society girl from Delhi. It’s a first person account and a chick flick/romcom like Clueless and 13 Going On 30, told from the girl’s point of view,” the paper quotes a source as having said.

Working on Sonam’s voice is popular Vagina Monologues actress Jayati Bhatia. The paper reports that Sonam Kapoor attends the workshop every day for almost five hours.

While the actress confirmed to the paper that she was attending workshops for her part in Ayesha, she refused to divulge any details about it.

Ayesha is to be directed by Rajshri Ojha and is said to be an adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma.

She may be only two films old in Bollywood but actress Sonam Kapoor is already creating waves globally as she is the only Indian to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s special issue devoted to Asia.

“Next Generation: Asia Class of 2009″, a journal by the trade bible which is featuring Asia’s new generation in filmmaking for the first time has selected Sonam as the only Indian representative.

Sonam, who celebrates her 24th birthday on Tuesday is thrilled with the news. “Yes, it is pleasing to be recognized by Hollywood so early in my career, but my success is due to the enormous faith that the Indian film industry has placed in me and the great love that I have been lucky to get from my audiences,” Sonam said in a statement.

The article about “the next generation of leaders in the rapidly evolving Asian entertainment sector” prominently features Sonam and the actress has also been presented with a certificate signed by Eric Mika, the publisher of Hollywood Reporter.

But Sonam is in no hurry to migrate to Hollywood.

“My heart is in India, and the films we make here can stand comparison with those made anywhere in the world, including Hollywood,” the actress said.

“So if and when there is an offer from the West, I will judge it on the same criteria that I choose scripts – whether I believe in the story, the project and the people involved or not; and not just because it has come from Hollywood,” Sonam added.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who turned 24 recently, says she always wanted to be a star and not just another actor. “For me, stardom is a new and novel experience… it’s lovely. That’s why I became a film actor… I wanted that… I wanted to act and be something. If I only wanted to be an actor, I would have done theatre. But I actually wanted to be a star and I make no bones about that,” Sonam told IANS in an interview here.

Sonam, who made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with “Saawariya” and later featured in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s “Delhi 6″, says stardom definitely brings more pressure but she knows how to manage it.

“There is added pressure but I have been brought up in a way that I am extremely confident of who I am,” she said.

The actress is also aware of the three-decade-old body of work her father Anil Kapoor carries behind him and says besides looking up to him for advice, she also takes due advantage of being his daughter.

“My dad says he survived in the industry for 30 years because he didn’t concentrate on what people wanted him to do, but what he was convinced about. He was not part of the rat race and that’s what I am going to do – that’s what I have learnt from him.

“I am not part of the rat race. I just want to do films. Having someone like him in my family is an advantage and I make complete use of the fact,” she added.

Sonam is at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards for her first stage performance and says she is extremely nervous.

“I am nervous. I have butterflies in my stomach that are going all the way up to my head. The dress that I am wearing is very elaborate. It’s by Anamika Khanna and is pink, red and black in colour and has a lot of glitter and sequins like most show outfits. I hope the outfit stays. But I am excited as well,” she said.

As of now, Sonam is looking forward to her home production “Ayesha” as well as Mehra’s “Sahibaan”.
